Young, smiling, sociable, and full of life... It may seem that experienced plastic surgeons are not supposed to look like Dr. Mohammed Shbair. But after meeting him, you realise that someone like him is exactly the person you can trust with the most valuable thing you have—your appearance and beauty. Here is why.

We met Dr. Shbair in his spacious office between another consultation and a rhinoplasty procedure. He admits that finding time for the interview was very difficult, as patients often book appointments with him several weeks in advance. Judging by the portraits of his beautiful and often well-known patients displayed along the corridors of his clinic, this is easy to believe. His patients include Instagram bloggers, entrepreneurs, government officials, and representatives of show business. At the same time, Dr. Shbair admits that he does not care who is lying on his operating table. The most important thing is for the patient to leave satisfied and completely happy.

“I have never had any unrealistic ambitions. Even as a child, my dreams were always practical. I was born in the Gaza Strip. There were eight children in my family, including me. My mother was a homemaker, and my father was an engineer. At first, I dreamed of becoming a soldier, and only later did I decide to become a doctor. I really wanted to help people. I studied well, so I was able to enter medical school without any difficulties. A high score was the main admission requirement. Eventually, all my brothers and sisters received higher education. One of my brothers became a dentist, and he invited me to study in Kazakhstan. In general, I can say that some people buy land to secure their future, while my father invested all his strength and resources in his children,” Mohammed Shbair recalls.

Dr. Shbair says that he has been living in Kazakhstan for 20 years. During this time, he has managed to visit his homeland only twice, mainly because of his workload. Today, however, his home is here. He lives here with his wife, son, and daughter, and it is here that he found his professional calling.

It was this desire that brought Dr. Shbair to South Korea, where he completed advanced professional training. Today, he is a member of the Association of Plastic Surgeons and ENT Specialists at Chosun University in South Korea, an assistant at the Department of KazMUNO, a member of the NSAPA Association of Kazakhstan, and a member of the Association of the Public Union of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons of Kazakhstan.

It was this desire that brought Dr. Shbair to South Korea, where he completed advanced professional training. Today, he is a member of the Association of Plastic Surgeons and ENT Specialists at Chosun University in South Korea, an assistant at the Department of KazMUNO, a member of the NSAPA Association of Kazakhstan, and a member of the Association of the Public Union of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons of Kazakhstan.

“We managed to open the plastic surgery clinic in 2019, and it is truly unique. We are the only clinic in Kazakhstan that performs surgery on such complex cases as developmental abnormalities, cleft lip, secondary and tertiary rhinoseptoplasty, various types of injuries, and injuries caused by road accidents. Incidentally, I was once fortunate enough to reconstruct a patient’s nose completely,” he says enthusiastically.

Today, Dr. Shbair is the only surgeon in Kazakhstan who uses the innovative piezo device—a cutting-edge surgical instrument for precise and safe rhinoplasty. It makes it possible to remove bony humps, reduce the size of the bony part of the nose, and replace the traditional “hammer and chisel” technique widely used to reshape the nasal bones.

The piezo device allows the surgeon to work on the nasal bones with great precision using a high-frequency vibrating element and water-jet cooling, reducing surgical trauma several times over. This makes it possible to achieve truly remarkable results.

Dr. Mohammed Shbair is known not only throughout Kazakhstan. His reputation has spread far beyond the country, and people from many different parts of the world seek appointments with him. His patients often come from Germany, the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Russia, and other countries. This demand is partly due to the relatively affordable cost of the services. However, the doctor’s expertise, experience, and skill play the most important role.

“Rhinoplasty is rightly considered the most complex procedure in plastic surgery. If a surgeon knows how to perform rhinoplasty, all other cosmetic procedures will seem less difficult. Rhinoplasty is not only about aesthetics—it is also about health,” he concludes.
